Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents his first trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of that year.
The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an better serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional title, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
